About Jenna (Founder and Director):
Jenna Shulman guides high school students through the daunting college application process and helps them gain acceptance to top undergraduate and graduate universities. She began working with students over ten years ago. She then turned her passion and skills into a full-time consulting business in August 2015. In the last seven years, she has helped over 400 students in Northern New Jersey (and beyond!) gain acceptance into their dream schools across the country. She helps students and families every step of the way, alleviating the pressure of navigating the highly competitive college admissions process.
Jenna received her College Access Counseling Certificate through The Options Institute of New York City. She attends workshops and conferences as a member of the following college counseling organizations:
National Association for College Admission Counseling
New Jersey Association for College Admission Counseling
Higher Education Consultants Association
Jenna visits between 20 and 30 colleges per year to make sure she is well acquainted with schools all across the country. She has fostered relationships with admission counselors nationwide in order to provide her clients with the best possible resources. A Florham Park, NJ native and a University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism graduate, she was a professional writer and producer before starting her college consulting business. Her professional experiences at ESPN, CNN, MTV, CBS News, Bleacher Report, and Discovery Channel developed her creative writing talents, networking skills, and business acumen.
Jenna provides her clients with insight, advice, and strict schedules as they navigate the application process. She is knowledgeable and experienced in every step of the process: building a college list; managing financial aid and scholarships; writing and revising essays; completing The Common App; filling out general applications; securing letters of recommendation, designing resumes; preparing for interviews; building networks and making connections. Jenna’s goal is to find the college that best fits each student based on academic, social, and financial factors.
